Sonam Kapoor & Akshay Kumar to pair up for R. Balki’s next
Sonam Kapoor and Akshay Kumar, who starred together for the first time in Anees Bazmee’s multi-starrer comedy ‘Thank You’ in 2011, will reunite for R Balki’s next project. Although the two were not romantically linked in the previous film, the upcoming project will have them romancing each other.
According to reports, the ‘Ki & Ka’ director recently held a meeting with Sonam where he gave a lengthy narration to the ‘Neerja’ actress and discussed the project with her. Sonam liked the project and immediately gave her nod.
Mumbai Mirror quoted a source as saying, “It was an immediate go-ahead from the actress after Balki narrated it to her. She loves the script and will kick off shooting next year."
Balki is retaining his usual crew of cinematographer PC Sreeram and composer Ilayaraaja for the upcoming project. The film will also star Amitabh Bachchan in a special role. Big B has featured in all movies by the filmmaker.
Looks like Sonam, who had only one release this year, will keep busy shooting for three films next year. Then there is the biopic on Sanjay Dutt, wherein she will reunite with her ‘Saawariya’ co-star Ranbir Kapoor, and the latest is the R Balki film opposite the ‘Khiladi’ Kumar.
