Sonakshi Sinha all set to judge ‘Indian Idol Junior’

A lot is happening on Indian television with celebs like Shah Rukh Khan hosting a game show and Farah Khan’s star studded cooking show. Now yet another personality is going to join this club. It is with a music reality show that Sonakshi Sinha is making her television debut. The show is none other than ‘Indian Idol Junior’. The actress would be the judge along with Salim Merchant and Vishal Dadlani.

Asha Negi and Hussain Kuwajerwala would be seen hosting the show. Sonakshi expresses her pleasure to be a part of the show – “I am excited about judging the music reality show featuring children. I am a kid at heart, and love watching shows that display such wonderful talent, so it's the perfect fit for me. I can't wait to meet all the talented kids.”

Sonakshi is super excited about this new opportunity as can be seen from her tweets. She tweeted- “OMG!! Have some grrrrreat news for you’ll... Wait for it #juniorontheway” She had fans guessing who and what the “junior” was? Then the wait was finally ended when a cool hashtag started on Twitter. #SonakshiAndJunior is trending now. She announced on 3rd April – “Enough guessing!! HAPPY to announce #ShotgunJunior is going to be a part of Indian Idol Junior” and encouraged her fans to explore the brand new hashtag #SonakshiAndJunior.

Salim Merchant and Vishal Dadlani had been finalized first. Then it had been reported that the show makers were going to feature Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone as the judges. The ladies had been approached too, as a source reported – “For the third judge, they are looking at roping in a Bollywood actress. Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Sonakshi Sinha have been approached.” Sonakshi has earlier visited the sets of ‘Indian Idol Junior’. She came with Ranveer Singh for the promotion of her film ‘Lootera’. She then revisited with Imran Khan to promote ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara!’.

Few know that Sonakshi has tried her hand at singing as well. She has lent her voice to Hindi dubbed version of the Hollywood film ‘Rio 2’. The actress admits that she enjoyed, but then she is just a bathroom singer. “There’s a scene where Jewel is dancing and singing, so they made me sing a few lines as well. It was such a new experience! I would have even loved to sing more but unfortunately I am only just a bathroom singer,” says Sonakshi.
