Sonakshi Sinha eager to play Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena in biopic

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha is all set to play the role of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister in ‘Haseena – The Queen’, a biopic to be directed by Apoorva Lakhia of ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’ fame.

The ‘Dabangg’ actress is very much excited to essay the character of Haseena who reigned the Mumbai underworld after her husband Ismail Parker was killed by a rival gang.

Music composer Shekhar Ravjiani congratulated the actress for bagging the role and tweeted, “Congratulations and best wishes @mubinarattonsey @sonakshisinha for #Haseena- The queen of Mumbai. Super script. Now waiting for the film.”

Sonakshi replied by writing, “"Thank you shekhar! It is a brilliant script... I can't wait to play haseena”

The actress who is currently busy judging the singing reality show ‘Indian Idol Junior 2’, has earlier too starred in a gangster movie. She played the love interest of Akshay Kumar’s and Imran Khan’s Characters in Milan Luthria’s ‘Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobara’.

The biopic on Haseena will go on floors early next year.

Dawood has two sisters -- Haseena Parkar and Saeeda Parkar. Haseena, who was known as the underworld queen, used to stay with her son Alishah and a 21-year-old-daughter in Mumbai's Nagpada. She passed away last year after suffering a massive heart attack aged 55.

She was the seventh child in a family of 12 kids. Her father, Mohammed Ibrahim, was a police head constable in Mumbai crime branch.
