Sonakshi reminisces childhood days with Arjun, Kapoor kids

Sonakshi Sinha would be seen in the upcoming film ‘Tevar’. This Amit Sharma directorial is all set to hit the silver screens on 9th January 2015. Sonakshi has worked alongside Arjun Kapoor and Manoj Bajpayee in this film. In a recent interview, Sonakshhi revealed that she had known Arjun as Rhea’s cousin in her childhood days. She used to see Arjun at birthday parties, but got to know him properly when they worked together in ‘Tevar’.

The actress said in an interview, “Rhea Kapoor and I were in the same class in Arya Vidya Mandir. Arjun and Sonam were two batches senior to us. While somewhere in between Rhea and I lost touch with each other post school, we actually grew up together and so I only knew Arjun as Rhea's cousin, meeting him at her birthday parties till he shifted school when he was in class VIII. So we were acquaintances and I came to first know him when he used to work out with Salman Khan in his house while I was doing Dabangg. But I really got to know him properly only now while shooting Tevar.”

Boney Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor have together produced ‘Tevar’. This is the first project in which Boney is working with his son Arjun Kapoor, who is the lead actor of the movie. In the interview, Sonakshi also described her relationship with the two producers, “Sanjay and Boney uncle have seen me grow up, so much so that I used to call Sanjay chachu as that is what Rhea used to call him. Actually, for me also this was like working in a home production.” Boney Kapoor too, is elated to have the talented actress onboard. He was seen praising her moves for the song ‘Radha Nachegi’, a song from ‘Tevar’. Sanjay stated, “Look at her in 'Tevar'. Sonakshi has never looked more stunning. She lost oodles of weight specially to shoot the song 'Radha nachegi'. Look at how gracefully she has performed the song. Very few contemporary leading ladies can carry off a semi-classical number so fluently.”

‘Tevar’ is the remake of the Telugu film ‘Okkadu’ released in 2003. The soundtrack has been created by the famous duo Sajid-Wajid, while the international singer Imran Khan has lent his voice to the songs. Sonakshi appears as Radhika in the movie, while Arjun plays the role of Pintoo- a college student in Agra, who is also a Kabaddi champion. Manoj Bajpayee will be seen in the negative role of Gajendar Singh.
