Sohail Khan, Bobby Deol cheer for 'Ek Hasina Thi' team

Salman Khan’s brother, actor director and producer, Sohail Khan, attended close friend and Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) team member Vatsal Seth and Sanjeeda Sheikh’s Television serial launch ‘EK Hasina Thi’ in Mumbai on Monday, April 14.

Actor Bobby Deol was also there to cheer for his CCL team friend.

According to reports, Siddharth Malhotra, creative producer, Cinevistaas, said in a statement recently, “We are excited to present Ek Hasina Thi, a show we have been developing over three years. Our vision for the show was to elevate it to a completely film like experience. Therefore we haven’t compromised on anything, right from the way the characters are presented to the overall treatment, action, sound, locations and sequences every aspect has been given a larger than life feel. We have had an amazing relationship with STAR PLUS and are happy to have collaborated once again for Ek Hasina Thi.”

Saqib Saleem was seen dressed casually for the launch. Sanjeeda Sheikh was spotted with her husband Aamir Ali wearing a monochrome dress for the occasion, while Simone Singh looked quite nice in a black printed outfit. Director Apoorva Lakhia was also present at the scene.

Actor Ayub Khan, who is currently seen in the TV serial ‘Uttaran’, was also clicked at the event.

‘Ek Hasina Thi’ is a television thriller drama series, being aired on Star Plus channel from April 14, every Monday through Saturday at 8 pm. Produced by Prem Krishen of Cinevistaas Limited, it features Sanjeeda Sheikh and Vatsal Seth in the lead roles.

The show was initially titled ‘Daag’, but later the producers thought ‘Ek Hasina Thi’ would be more appropriate. The show is based in Kolkata, but it is shot in Mumbai.

The story — set in the eastern metropolis of Kolkata — ‘Ek Hasina Thi’ traces the journey of a woman Durga Thakur, who has decided to become an active agent of change to realize justice. She is not only rich, brave and focused with a heart of gold, but is also strong, calculating and manipulative, using her intelligence to stay ahead of her rivals. But, Durga’s fight is not an easy one.

According to reports, Sanjeeda Sheikh who is returning to television after a long break is going the extra mile for her character Durga in ‘Ek Hasina Thi’. The actress is, reportedly, taking Bengali lessons to perfect her accent and diction to make her character appear real.

The show has been inspired from the American TV series ‘Revenge’.
