‘Singh Is Bliing’ rocks box office minting over Rs. 50 cr in three days


Akshay Kumar's starrer ‘Singh Is Bliing’ which became the second biggest opener of this year has the action comedy stood at Rs. 54.44 crore.

The film collected Rs. 20.67 crore on the day of its release and became the second highest opener right behind Salman Khan starrer ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ which grossed Rs. 27.25 crores on its opening day on July 17.

On day two Saturday, the film witnessed a drop in its collection with an earning of Rs. 14.50 crore. Sunday’s figure was better than Saturday but slightly less than that of the opening day Friday. The third day collection totalled at Rs 19.27 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh today (October 5) shared the first weekend box office collections of ‘Singh Is Bliing’ on his Twitter handle. “#SinghIsBliing crosses Rs. 50 cr mark in its opening weekend. Sun was ROCKING. Fri 20.67 cr, Sat 14.50 cr, Sun 19.27 cr. Total: Rs. 54.44 cr,” he posted.

The film is expected to cross the Rs. 100 crore mark this week.

Directed by Prabhudeva, ‘Singh Is Bliing’ stars British actress Amy Jackson as the leading lady opposite Akshay Kumar. It also stars Lara Dutta, Kay Kay Menon, Rati Agnihotri, and others.

Though the film did not impress critics much, it has stormed the box office and is being appreciated by audience for the comic performance of the ‘Khiladi’ Kumar. Lara Dutta who to has returned on celluloid after a gap of more than two years showed her never-seen-before comic avatar.

‘Singh Is Bliing’ revolves around a happy-go-lucky Raftaar Singh who is entrusted with the task of providing protection to Saara (Amy) who has fled Romania where a gangster is after her.
