Singer Arijit Singh gets extortion call from Ravi Pujari

Bollywood singing sensation Arijit Singh has been receiving threatening calls from gangster Ravi Pujari. Pujari wants Arijit to sing free for him after the ace singer failed to pay the hefty amount of Rs 5 crore, demanded by the gangster.

Ravi Pujari made a call to Singh’s manager and placed the condition. Arjiti Singh informed the matter to the Oshiwara police station but did not file any FIR against the gangster. Senior officials said Singh has refused to file an official complaint regarding the matter. "Singh received a call from Pujari. Ravi Pujari asked him whether he will sing for him. It was not a threat call. Pujari only called him once and has not called since," said an officer from the Oshiwara police station.

The Oshiwara police have recorded the incident but no case has been registered since the gangster did not threat any dare consequences. Meanwhile, Singh took to the social media to address the media. "It's a humble request to media to stop bothering me about news. There are other important things happening in India," he tweeted.

When Arijit said that he doesn't has such a hefty amount to pay him, Pujari asked him to perform free for his men in America.

"I generally don't answer to unknown numbers but that day when Ravi Pujari called my phone was off and he called my manager Tarsame Mittal. Tarsame told me he wants to talk to me and made a conference call. By then I got to know from Tarsame that he was asking a ridiculous amount of money.

But over the phone he was talking like a gentle man and asked me if I can sing songs for him and told me to be in touch. My manager gave a statement to police station about it and police confirmed with me as well.

They offered me security but I told them I have not been threatened so I don't need security.

Later on I got to know from Tarsame that Nattu Bhai (show organiser in the USA ) got a random call from some promoter to do a show with us in a lower budget and that's why he asked Ravi Pujari to call and finalise it. My Management spoke to the promoter and sorted it out. We will do the show if it is under controlled budget.

My reactions are pretty normal about it as it is not a big deal. We got pressurised from various sources before and trust to handle those were much more difficult. This matter is getting hyped because of one name Ravi Pujari

We are touring in the USA  and definitely doing the shows. I have faith in every single human being around me. Everything will be fine. But one things is there for sure

The place I come from is Murshidabad. I am a simple guy. It becomes too complicated I will rather spent time and live life in peace back in my native place.” said Arijit in an official statement.

In the past, Ravi Pujari had made threats and extortion calls to several celebrities including Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Shahrukh Khan.
