‘Simmba’ First Look: Ranveer Singh plays mischievous ‘Chulbul Pandey’

The first look of ‘Simmba’ is out and we can see Ranveer Singh stepping into Salman Khan’s shoes. The ‘Padmavati’ actor reprises the role of ‘Chulbul Pandey’ from ‘Dabangg’. He donned the uniform of a cop and puts on glasses.

The actor took to social media to share the first look poster of Simmba and captioned it as: SANGRAM BHALERAO aka #Simmba !!!! (sic)”.

Karan Johar, who is producing the movie with Rohit too shared the poster. The ace filmmaker tweeted, "28th December 2018!! ROHIT SHETTY will be back!!!! Ranveer Singh as #SIMMBA."

This is the first time Ranveer Singh is working with director Rohit Shetty.

‘Simmba’ is the Hindi remake of the Telugu film ‘Temper’. The director has already acquired the rights of the film. “We have bought the rights of Temper but our film is not exactly a remake. We wanted to take four-five scenes from Temper but we thought it’s better to buy the rights. It’s what we did with Singham,” Rohit was quoted as saying in an earlier interview.

Rohit Shetty is a big fan of Ranveer’s energy, he once said, “He is a superstar. His energy is not restricted. He does not think, ‘If I perform in a certain way, what will this or that person think.’ That’s the quality of a superstar. You have to connect with the masses if you have to be a superstar.”

‘Simmba’ is slated to release on December 28, 2018.
