Sikander Kher calls off engagement with Sonam’s cousin Priya Singh

In yet another break-up news, actor Sikander Kher and Sonam Kapoor’s cousin Priya Singh, who got engaged earlier this year, have called off their engagement. They were planning to tie the knot sometime this year.

Sikander, son of veteran actors Anupam Kher and Kirron, and Priya, daughter of Sonam’s meternal aunt Kavita and businessman Jasjit Singh, knew each other for barely four months before getting engaged in January.

A report in Mumbai Mirror stated that the duo broke off their engagement three weeks ago. There were lot of arguments going on between Sikandar and Priya due to their different lifestyles. Apparantly, some people even said that the two were completely different from each other right from the beginning.

Priya was supposed to marry 39-year-old Aashish Mahbubani, but unfortunately he suffered a heart attack while working out in gym and passed away in October last year, two months before the wedding. Priya then found solace in Sikander and exchanged rings with him.

Anupam Kher had announced his step-son’s engagement on Twitter with a picture of the couple. “Happy to share that our dearest @sikandarbk got engaged to wonderful Priya Singh, d/o dear Jasjit & Kavita Singh.:)” the actor had captioned the photo.

Although this year saw many celebrities getting married like actress Asin and Micromac chief Rahul Sharma, TV actors Sanaya Irani and Mohit Sehgal, Preity Zinta and Gene Goodenough and others, there were no dearth of celebrity break-ups too.

Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif, Sushant Singh Rajput-Ankita Lokhande, Farhan Akhtar-Adhuna Bhabani  were among those who separated after a long relationship/marriage.
