Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan visit Karan’s twins at home

Filmmaker Karan Johar brings home his twins, Yash and Roohi yesterday and the lovely twins has got few visitors. Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan was seen entering Karan’s residence on Wednesday evening. The duo looked quite excited to meet Karan’s twins.

Karan’s twins were born premature and the babies were at the NICU since they were born as the babies weighed less than 1.5 kg each. Premature babies basically have less immunity and there remains high chance of infection. So Karan Johar was advised to have very limited visitors.

Doctors have strictly advised Karan to keep his kids away from too many people.

Dr Bhupendra Avasthi, who has been monitoring the kids' health, told, "Normally, babies have low immunity and in case of premature births, extra precaution is mandatory."

He added, "Regular follow-up (check-up) is of utmost importance, so that we can monitor their growth. Deficiencies that they had during birth also need to be checked. We have fixed dates to conduct tests and ascertain their health. He (Karan) needs to keep a tab on the number of guests he receives; the babies are susceptible to infection."

When Karan shared the good news of the birth of his babies in March, he wrote, "I am ecstatic to share with you all the two most wonderful additions to my life, my children and lifelines; Roohi and Yash. I feel enormously blessed to be a parent to these pieces of my heart who were welcomed into this world with the help of the marvels of medical science."

He has written about the twins' birth, "My children were born two months premature and worryingly underweight. Like any person in this situation and on the brink of fatherhood, my heart sank. Knowing that there were complications with my babies birth owing to how soon it was, I was terrified. All I wanted to do was hold them and protect them but they needed to be in the NICU. It was painful to see how tiny they were”.

Karan promised to share the picture of his babies very soon. Karan was very worried as his babies were born premature and were in the NICU. "All I wanted to do was hold them and protect them but they needed to be in the NICU. It was painful to see how tiny they were…" he had written on Twitter.

Shahrukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Ayaan Mukherji, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have all visited the twins at hopsital.

Dr Bhupendra Avasthi from Surya Hospital, said the babies were kept at the NICU because they were premature, Yash and Roohi weighed less than 1.5kg each at birth. “Being born in the 29th week, the babies were very small and weak. However, post treatment, they have gained sufficient weight,” he said.

Doctors added that Karan frequently visited the babies at the hospital. “He got emotional every time he saw them. He is a very humble and loving person,” Dr Avasthi said.
