Siddharth, Jacqueline roped in for ‘Bang Bang’ sequel

‘Brothers’ actors Siddharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez have been roped in to replace Hrithik and Katrina in the sequel of Siddharth Anand’s 2014 hit film ‘Bang Bang’.

The Hrithik and Katrina starrer action thriller received an overwhelming response at the box office and was one of the biggest grosser of that year. Following its success, the makers have decided to come up with a sequel which will cast the fresh pair of Siddharth and Jacqueline, according to reports.

Though both Siddharth and Jacqueline were part of the action-drama ‘Brothers’, the ‘Kick’ actress was paired opposite Akshay Kumar. Siddharth and Jacqueline will get to romance each other on-screen for the first time in ‘Bang Bang 2’.

While Katrina’s replacement was decided earlier, Hrithik was eager to star in the sequel. But things didn’t work out as he was busy with his upcoming project ‘Mohenjo Daro’, following which the ‘Ek Villain’ actor was roped in.

Siddharth Anand directed 2014 film ‘Bang Bang’ was an official remake of Hollywood movie ‘Knight and Day’ and the lead pair’s sizzling chemistry was highly appreciated.

About the sequel, a source close to the project told Mumbai Mirror, “Like the original, the main character emerges from a mysterious background and the story unfolds through chase sequences.”

It is now to see whether Siddharth Malhotra and Jacqueline are able to recreate the magic of Hrithik and Katrina.
