Shruti Haasan looks perfect Maharashtrian mulgi in 'Gabbar Is Back'

mpletely new avatar, in a traditional Maharashtrian look. The model-cum-actress-cum-singer has been cast opposite to the khiladi Akshay Kumar in Sanjay Leela Bansali’s film Gabbar Is Back.

In her first look the beautiful actress is seen in a beautiful pink Nauvari Saree. The Nauvari Saree is a traditional Maharashtrian saree worn by the Maharashtrian women in festive times and otherwise. Her traditional look is further enhanced by making her wear the beautiful and complementary Nathani which is a traditional nose ring largely worn by the Maharashtrian women. It is a part of the exclusive and traditional jewelry worn most by the Maharashtrian women. She has been nicely accessorized with other jewelry. To further the fundamentals of the look, she has been attributed with a nice traditional hair-do.

The shot captures Shruti Haasan in a beautiful setting at the backdrop. The shot hints at a ceremonial or festive occasion taking place. Akshay Kumar is seen accompanying her in this shot. Akki’s heavily bearded look for this film, his upstanding and robust physic complements the softness and gracefulness exhibited in the way Shruti has been styled for the film.

Shruti, who is also shooting for Anees Bazme’s ‘Welcome Back’ in Dubai, looks like a Maharashtrian Mulgi in this film. Her mother, the famous actress Sarika is a half-Maharashtrian.  Recently she had posted a photo of her in Instagram wearing the same Nauvari saree and beating on the drums with a funny face. Shruti is also a singer. She had worked as a singer in many films since a young age-‘Chachi 420’ and ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’ to name just a few.

Besides Akshay Kumar and Shruti Haasan, the film Gabbar Is Back also stars Kareena Kapoor, Suno Sood, Amala Paul and Prakash Raj doing their bit in the film with Kareena Kapoor in a cameo. Recently Teri Meri Kahani, the song starring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor was released and it been on the charts since its release.

The film Gabbar Is Back is the Bollywood remake of the famous Tamil film Ramana starring Vijaykanth released in 2002. It has been directed by the popular South Indian director Kris. The film has been produced by Sanjay Leela Bansali along with Viacom 18 motion pictures. The film is set to release in May 1, 2015.
