Shraddha Kapoor’s grandfather passes away

Actress Shraddha Kapoor’s grandfather Pandit Pandharinath Kolhapure passed away on Saturday evening, August 15. He was the father of Shraddha’s mother Shivangi Kapoor and yesteryear actress Padmini Kholapure.

He was a trained classical singer and is a respected name in the world of Music. He is the cousin of singing legends Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.

Pt. Pandharinath had been suffering from ill-health and age related issues for a while now. He is said to be a very humble person with middle-class values, and was also the one who kept his star daughter Padmini grounded when she shot to fame in the early 1980s.

Perhaps, Shraddha has got her singing skills from him.

The prayer meeting will be held on Tuesday, 18 August, at Juhu. It will be attended by family members, including Shraddha and her actor brother Siddhanth and their close relatives.

Pt. Pandharinath was born on February 16, 1930. He has authored three books, including his autobiography.
