Shraddha Kapoor to play Madhuri's role in ‘Ram Lakhan’ remake

The ‘Aashiqui’ actress Shraddha Kapoor has been roped in to play the iconic role of Radha in ‘Ram Lakhan' remake. Shraddha will step into Madhuri Dixit’s shoes for the remake.

Highly impressed with Shraddha Kapoor’s performance in ‘ABCD 2’, Karan Johar signed Shraddha.

The ‘Ram Lakhan’ remake is a joint venture of Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty. The original ‘Ram Lakhan’ directed by Subhash Ghai and starring Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, Dimple Kapadia, Raakhee was a blockbuster.

Apart from Shraddha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt’s name was also being considered as Alia is one of the favourites of Karan Johar but finally Shraddha grabbed the meaty role. Rohit Shetty once said during an interview, “The remake will have young actors only”. Siddharth Malhotra and Ranveer Singh have been chosen for the roles of Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor, respectively.

A report published in DNA stated, "People keep forgetting that along with being a two-hero film, it's also a two-heroine project. Producer Karan Johar is keen on Shraddha Kapoor for Madhuri's role. He's very impressed with her performance in ABCD 2. Shraddha's riding high on her back-to-back successes and Alia Bhatt is one of Karan's favourites. So both of them are the toughest contenders for the role. But nothing has been finalised".

However, Madhuri Dixit is full of praises for Shraddha Kapoor for 'ABCD 2' and she expressed the same on social media. The dhak dhak lady wrote, “Loved watching #ABCD2 with family. [email protected][email protected], PD and cast, your dancing set the screen on fire! Fab work #RemoDsouza.”

Shraddha is highly thrilled to receive appreciation from Madhuri and she thanked her back.
