Shraddha Kapoor shares new release date of ‘Haseena Parkar’ with intense poster

Shraddha Kapoor-starrer upcoming biopic ‘Haseena Parkar’, which was earlier slated to hit screens on July 14, has been postponed and will now release on August 18. Shraddha announced the new date on Monday by sharing a new poster of the film.

The latest poster is quite intense and features the ‘Baaghi’ actress covered in a burqa with just her deep, khol-lined eyes and forehead exposed. The expression of her eyes is enough to say that she means business. The poster has a tag written in Hindi which reads, ‘eighty-eight cases lodged, but only one appearance in court’.

“So here's another teaser poster of #HaseenaParkar Hope you guys like it! #HaseenaTeaserPoster @haseenamovie #ApoorvaLakhia #18thAugust,” the actress wrote while sharing the poster on Instagram.

Shraddha will essay the titular role of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parker who was regarded as the queen of Mumbai. Her real-life brother Siddhanth will play her on-screen brother Dawood in the Apoorva Lakhia-directed biopic.

Haseena Parker reigned the Mumbai underworld after her husband Ismail Parker was killed by a rival gang. She used to stay with her son Alishah and a 21-year-old-daughter in Mumbai's Nagpada. The biopic will touch upon four high points of her life as a crime boss — her dealings with the slum redevelopment authorities, negotiating overseas rights of Hindi films, the Hawala racket, and the territorial wars among cable operators in the city. Haseena passed away in July, 2014 after suffering a massive heart attack at the age of 55.

‘Haseena Parkar’ shifted its date to avoid clashing with ‘Jagga Jasoos’ and is getting a solo release on August 18. Days ago, Shah Rukh also averted the clash of his film ‘When Harry Met Sejal’ with Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’, by preponing it to August 4. It was earlier slated to release on August 11.
