Shraddha Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur wrap-up ‘OK Jaanu’ shoot in 35 days


Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor starrer film ‘OK Jaanu’ has wrapped up its shooting. The romantic drama directed by Shaad Ali completed filming in just 35 days, creating a record of sorts.

Karan Johar, who is producing the film, announced the wrap-up news on his Twitter handle. “#OKJAANU wraps!!! @ShraddhaKapoor #AdityaRoyKapur #ManiRatnam #Gulzar #ARRahman #Shaad,” he posted along with a still from the movie, which has Aditya and Shraddha hugging each other in a cane swing.

The film’s cinematographer Ravi K Chandran informed on his Facebook page that ‘OK Jaanu’ was wrapped up in just 35 days.

Shraddha also took to the micro-blogging site and shared a picture of her and Aditya with the movie’s team as they celebrated the wrap-up. “#OKJAANUWRAP! It's been a blast with this crazy gang!!! Going to miss it too much!!!” the ‘Ek Villain’ actress tweeted with the picture.

The official Twitter handle of ‘OK Jaanu’ has shared some pictures from the sets of the film in past few days.

‘OK Jaanu’ is an official remake of Mani Ratnam’s 2015 Tamil blockbuster ‘O Kadhal Kanmani’ which starred Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menen in the lead roles. The film was a fresh take on modern day relationships and portrayed a couple in a live-in relationship in Mumbai. The screenplay for the Hindi version has been co-written by Mani Ratnam and Shaad Ali.

Aditya and Shraddha, who enthralled audience with their rain-soaked romance in ‘Ashiqui 2’, are expected to recreate the magic in ‘OK Jaanu’ being produced by Karan’s Dharma Productions. Double Oscar winning composer A.R. Rahman will give the music while renowned lyricist Gulzar will pen the songs.

The movie also stars Leela Samson and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles. Prakash Raj, who played the landlord in the Tamil original is said to reprise his role in the Hindi remake.

‘OK Jaanu’ is slated to hit screens on January 13, 2017.
