Shocking: Shruti Haasan walks out of ‘Sangamithra’

With much hullaballoo, Shruti Haasan launched her latest movie ‘Sangamithra’ at Cannes film festival but shockingly she walked out of the multi-crore movie due to date clashes.

A source reveals, “The project was supposed to commence by August, but it has now been pushed to the end of October. Shruti was really excited to be a part of Sangamithra, as it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of a period film with substance. But she will kickstart her new Hindi film in October, for which, she had given her dates before Sangamithra came her way. Also, she has Sabhash Naidu, which is another promising project in her kitty. Since everything is shifted, she couldn’t allot dates for Sundar C’s project as her schedule is packed.”

The source also adds that the actress feels extremely bad to not be able to do the project. “Knowing it was a massive undertaking and a long commitment spanning over two years, she knew the importance of her training, a comprehensive script and proper date calendar. She, in fact, hired and started training with one of the best combat trainers from April, to make sure she was ready in time for shoot.

Despite her enthusiasm and commitment to Sangamithra, she has had to give the film a miss since she had not received a proper bound script nor a proper date calendar,” the press statement said.

"Due to unavoidable circumstances, we are unable to proceed working with Shruti Haasan in 'Sangamithra'," read a post by banner Sri Thenandal Films.
