Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra summoned by ED in link-up with Dawood

Shilpa Shetty’s businessman husband Raj Kundra was summoned by Enforcement Directorate (ED) for his link-up with Ranjeet Bindra, a close associate of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. He will appear before ED on November 4th.

Earlier this month, The ED took Ranjeet Bindra in their custody for questioning him on his alleged links with D-Company man Iqbal Mirchi. Raj Kundra allegedly has business dealing with Ranjeet Bindra. How Raj is associated with Bindra is not yet clear.

Ranjeet Bindra had financial dealings with Essential Hospitality Private Limited of which Shilpa Shetty Kundra was the director and Raj Kundra was a shareholder.

Raj Kundra in the past had denied association of his and his wife Shilpa with Iqbal Mirchi, a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim.

Raj Kundra in a statement had said, "In 2011, I sold a plot that I owned near the airport including the company to RKW developers. Everything is documented & verified by my CA. This is the be-all and end-all of the deal. Any loans given to the company in question was after we sold the company to the new owner. We sold a zero-debt company! We have never taken a single loan it was taken by the new owners of the company!"

However, in a telephonic conversation with Arnab Goswami on live television, Kundra admitted to an association with Bindra. Kundra said, “he (Bindra) was the owner of the company. We have bought into a restaurant that he created so we bought into that chain”. Bindra was taken into custody for allegedly dealings with the D-company man Mirchi.
