Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra quizzed in cheating case


Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was questioned for three hours in 24 lakh cheating case. On Wednesday, Raj Kundra, along with three others reached Kongaon police station in Bhiwandi to record their statements over a cheating case.

On Tuesday, Shetty, Kundra and the three others were granted interim bail by a Thane sessions court.

According to the police, the question answer session went on for four hours.

A police officer said, “Apart from Shilpa Shetty, all the other four alleged accused had come to the Kongaon police station. We have recorded their statements .”

Last month, the couple has been booked in Rs24 lakh cheating case. The fraud case is in connection with an online shopping deal for a TV show, Best Deal. Three others are also booked in the same case.

Goregaon resident Ravi Mohanlal Bhalotia, 60, has lodged the complaint against the actor and her husband. The complainant said that two years ago, he met Shilpa Shetty and her husband and the others – Durshit Indravan Shah, Uday Kothari and Vedant Bali – for an online shopping deal.

 “They bought bedsheets worth Rs1.5 crore from me in 2015. I handed over the items to them, for which they paid Rs1.44 crore in January 2016,” said Bhalotia.

“When I approached them, they made several false promises and convinced me to give them another consignment of bedsheets worth Rs18 lakh in July 2016. But they never paid me for it,” he said.

Few days ago, Bhalotia approached Thane police commissioner Param Bir Singh and filed a complaint. After conducting a preliminary investigation, the police booked the five people on charges of cheating.

M Sawant,senior inspector, Kongaon police station, said, “We have not arrested anyone yet. We will send them a notice about it.”
