Shatrughan Sinha admitted to hospital

Veteran actor turned politician Shatrughan Sinha has been admitted to suburban hospital in Mumbai today for a routine check-up after a hectic election campaign. Last year, the actor underwent bypass surgery.

Last year, Shatrughan Sinha underwent bypass surgery when blockages were discovered after he complained of breathless after some paint work in his house.

"After a strenuous election campaign and a resounding victory in the  Lok Sabha elections, Sinha was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital for his regular periodic check up. All tests are normal and he should be discharged later today," said Dr Ram Narain, Executive Director, Kokilaben Hospital.

Shatrughan Sinha's wife Poonam Sinha, his twin sons Luv and Kush were at the hospital with him. Daughter and Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha was supposed to join them soon. His son Luv tweeted: "My father went in for a routine check up that was long overdue. Everything is fine. To everyone that (who) has been worried, thank you for your concern."

Popularly known as shot gun, Sinha recently won the Lok Sabha elections from his constituency, Patna Sahib.
