Shammi Kapoor asks Deepika for a coffee date
Veteran actor Shammi Kapoor surprised Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone on Twitter when she was asked for a coffee date. The actress is now planning to meet the 78 year old star. Deepika said "I've met Shammiji a couple of times and always felt this warmth towards him and I can feel the same from him. Even his wife has been very nice to me. Apparently he was tweeting me and I didn't even imagine that Shammiji would be on Twitter. But that happened just before I came here so when I go back I'll have my coffee date with him."
Deepika is currently shooting for Break Ke Baad in Delhi with debutante filmmaker Danish Produced by Kunal Kohli, and her co-star is Imran Khan.
In a mean time, Deepika is waiting for the release of her upcoming film Houseful where for the first time she tried her hands at comedy in the movie directed by Sajid Khan. Deepika added "Comedy is one of the most difficult genres for an actor because I think comedy is all about timing and spontaneity. But its been great fun and I am really happy that I worked with Sajid and Akshay who are brilliant when it comes to comedy."
Bikini act by Deepika in Housefull has been much talked about however the actress said she decided to go for a bold look because it was a demand of the character. "At the end of day you are making a modern film, where girls are on the beach and you have to be a bit realistic about it. It was something required and this is something I won't do for any other film. You have to have the confidence to carry off the film. The focus of the film is not the bikini, it will come and pass off."
Deepika does not believe in size-zero despite of her bikini act, according to her it is not appropriate for the Indian body. "I have never been asked to lose weight but if I ever have to put on weight for a movie I'll do that. I don't think it is healthy to be size zero. The Indian body is not cut out to be size zero," Deepika added.
Deepika's recent rendezvous with cricket comes naturally to daughter of former Badminton ace Prakash Padukone, Deepika said "I haven't thought about owning a team but I would love to support a team because I come from a sports family and I am enthusiastic about any kind of sport. I have been asked to be a part of cricket so I am there."
Deepika denied the reports of doing movie together with Salman. "Both of us want to work with each other. But we haven't been offered a movie together. If something interesting comes up I would love to work with him," Deepika said.
Deepika recently signed up a film with Pradeep Sarkar for Yash Raj Films other than Housefull and Break ke Baad.
