Shamita Shetty joins Aparakshit Khurrana for her digital debut


Actress Shamita Shetty is all set to make her debut on digital media with a web series, which will also feature singer-actor Ayushmann Khurrana’s brother Aparshakti Khurrana, who has featured in Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ and recently ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’.

The ‘Fareb’ actress recently teased her fans on social media by posting, “Doing what I love best! Work mode, shoot life, new beginnings, happy me.” The web-series will mark Shamita’s return to acting after a gap of 10 years after her last Bollywood film ‘Cash’.

The series is in works for Viacom18's Over-The-Top (OTT) platform – VOOT. The storyline and all the other related information about it is being kept under wraps.

According to an official statement from VOOT, the series will also feature Gaurav Pandey, who was also seen in ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, and Ridhima Pandit. The title of the series will be revealed soon.

Shamita, sister of Bollywood diva Shilpa Shetty, didn’t find much success in the film industry. After doing a few films, she switched to interior designing. She mentioned that interior designing came naturally to her.

“Interior designing is something that naturally happened to me… I just happened to do interiors of a nightclub and I did it with no technical knowledge… That’s when I decided when I am doing something… I would want to be technically sound with what I do,” Shamita had once told IANS.

Shamita has also participated in reality show ‘Bigg Boss 3’ and was the second runner-up in celebrity dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8’.
