Shakira may do an item number in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om

Choreographer Farah Khan who has made many bollywood beauties dance to her tunes just moved on to bigger things. Recently Farah choreographed Latino singer Shakira for the MTV Video Music Awards. Besides choreographing, Farah has ventured into direction with her film Main Hoon Na which was well appreciated at the box-office. Now Farah is planning her second directorial venture again starring Shahrukh Khan, titled Om Shanti Om .
Recently Farah was in New York to choreograph the Latino pop singer Shakira for the MTV Video Music Awards held at Radio City Hall. Farah claims that in the international arena everything is done on a huge scale, their production, costumes, dancers etc. Farah claims that as Shakira was busy with some other assignments in Toronto, they rehearsed the steps just three hours before the show. However Farah says “Shakira is a fast learner. The task was not easy as she was singing and dancing. So I gave her easy steps to do as singers run out of breadth while performing rigorous dance numbers.” Farah also claims that Shakira does not throw any starry tantrums and that she is very sweet, humble and down-to-earth.

There has been talk of Shakira doing an item number for Farah Khan’s next film Om Shanti Om. However Farah says “It’s too early to say anything but yes I have spoken to Shakira about doing an item number in my next film and she might do it.” Shakira is not familiar with bollywood films, but she does know that Shahrukh Khan is big in India and she has also watched the numbers Chhaiya Chhaiya and the 'qawalli' number from Main Hoon Na and she really appreciated both of them. Shakira is slated to perform in Mumbai in March next year. Well let’s hope that we can see some of Shakira’s famous hot belly dancing moves in a bollywood flick soon.

Farah had a blast at the MTV Video Music Awards and was elated to be there. She was thrilled to see singer Justin Timberlake rehearse for his performance. Apart from the concert, Farah did a lot of shopping, watched films and just chilled out in New York.
