Shahrukh to fill up Hrithik’s vacancy, signs ‘Shuddhi’

With filmmaker Karan Johar announcing the release date of his prestigious project ‘Shuddhi’, it gave rise to another rumor that Shahrukh Khan has been finalized to fill up Hrithik Roshan’s vacant position. As per the latest report, Karan has finalized his close pals and superstar Shahrukh Khan to play the male lead.

‘Shuddhi’ is slated for Christmas 2015 release next year and on looking at all the superstars packed dates, Shahrukh Khan seems to be the obvious choice.

Says an insider, “Shah Rukh came with Chennai Express in Eid, (considered Salman Khan’s date) and broke records. Now if he has a release on X’Mas (which belongs to Aamir Khan) and shatter box-office figures, it will be the ultimate high. Even though Aamir has not made an announcement yet for December 2015, he has released his last three films have released on that date.”

With no lead actors finalized, Karan Johar announcing the release date of the film cemented the report that Shahrukh Khan will be signed for the magnum opus. “SHUDDHI will release on Friday the 25th of December,2015…the Lead cast will be announced shortly..,” Karan tweeted.

Karan Johar is very possessive about ‘Shuddhi’ as the project is very close to his heart and at any cost he will take the film to the floor.

After Hrithik Roshan walked out of the project owing to ill-health and personal issue, Kareena Kapoor too is in dilemma whether to be or not to be part of ‘Shuddhi’. If Kareena walked out then Deepika Padukone is the next choice, as per the film’s source.

If Shahrukh Khan signs ‘Shuddhi’ then it will mark the return of King Khan to Dharma Productions after ‘My Name Is Khan’ (2010). Karan Malhotra will direct the film and Karan Johar will don the producer's hat. If Deepika stepped in then this would be her fourth film with Shahrukh after ‘Om Shanti Om’, ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Happy New Year’.
