Shahrukh misses best friend Farah’s birthday party

The extremely talented Bollywood director, Farah Khan celebrated her 50th birthday this year. This pleasant and sociable choreographer-turned-director held a party at her Mumbai residence on the 9th of January. Her birthday bash was attended by almost all the popular faces of tinsel town.

Amrita Arora, Amrita Rao, Madhuri Dixit, Jackie Shroff, Sonali Bendre, Tabu, Boman Irani, Kunal Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Malaika, Vidya Balan, Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, Siddharth Roy Kapoor, Sushmita Sen, Sonu Sood, Deepika Padukone, Mallika Sherawat, Kangana Ranaut, Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, all made their presence known on this occasion. Other close friends of Farah like Sohail Khan and Manoj Bajpayee were also seen attending this grand celebration. Ritesh Deshmukh and his wife Genelia who has recently given birth to their first child were also present.

The multi-talented Farhan Akhtar, whose birthday is on the same date as that of his cousin, Farah was also present. Farhan’s entire family, together with Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Sister Zoya Akhtar and wife Adhuna attended this party.

The entire team of ‘Happy New Year’, was present at this birthday bash except for Shahrukh Khan, the King of Bollywood and the male lead of this movie. King Khan’s wife Gauri Khan was present at the celebration, alone, and in a lovely black outfit, looking as elegant as ever. The combination of Shahrukh and Farah has created hits like ‘Om Shaanti Om’, ‘Main Hoon Na’ and the latest ‘Happy New Year’. Shahrukh and Farah consider each other family and thus his absence led to many questions and rumours.

It is speculated that Shahrukh is busy with his upcoming movie, ‘Fan’. The real reasons as to why Farah’s close friend SRK missed the party are still unknown. Shahrukh seems to have been too busy as he could not even tweet his wishes to Farah, even though he is quite active on the micro blogging platform, Twitter. Not to create any further misunderstandings Shahrukh later tweeted saying “I could not attend the celebration due to a busy schedule”. He also wished “Farah and Farhan many happy returns of the day”, and added “may they achieve success always”.

The birthday party which continued till late at night was put to stop by the arrival of police. All the celebrities gathered enjoyed themselves tremendously, past midnight, forgetting about the law and playing loud music after 11 pm, which resulted in a fine of Rs.5000.
