Shahrukh Khan’s Alibaug bungalow marked ‘Benami’

IT department has labelled Shahrukh Khan sprawling bungalow in Alibaug as ‘Benami’ property. Khan needs to reply to the allegation in 90 days. The major allegation against King Khan is that while purchasing the property spread over 19,500 sq ft, he mentioned in the application that he will used the agricultural plot for farming but instead he build a farmhouse there for his personal use.

I-T sources have revealed that the notice was issued under the Prohibition of Benami Property Transactions Act (PBPT) in December. The attachment notice was made under Section 24 of the Act was sent to to Deja Vu Farms under the Prohibition of Benami Property Transactions Act..

Deja Vu Farms has Namita Chhiba, Ramesh Chhiba and Savita Chhiba as its directors. They took up the land for cropping, gardening and horticulture purposes but never used it for such purposes. Instead, a plush farmhouse was built on the property, with has all the modern amenities including a helipad and a swimming pool. As per official, Khan gave an unsecured loan of Rs 8.5 crore to Deja Vu Farms.

In 2011, Ajgaonkar was replaced and Namita Chhiba was appointed director of Deja Vu. Ramesh Chibba, Savita Chibba, and Namita Chibba are Khan's father-in-law, mother-in-law and sister-in-law respectively, I-T authorities said.

Shah Rukh's spokesperson and his chartered accountant, Rajaram Ajgaonkar chose not to respond to the allegations at the moment.
