Shahrukh Khan hosts star-studded dinner for Apple CEO Tim Cook

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan hosted a lavish dinner party for Apple CEO Tim Cook at his palatial bungalow Mannat on Wednesday, May 18. The American business executive, accompanied by Apple Chief Operating officer Jeff Williams, is on a five-day maiden visit to India.

The ‘private’ dinner was a star-studded bash attended by Bollywood actors and other celebrities. Among those who attended the party included Amithabh Bachchan and his wife Jaya, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai. Aamir Khan, Madhuri Dixit, A R Rahman, Farah Khan, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Mukesh Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt also marked their presence.

Entrepreneur Adi Godrej along with wife Parmeshwar, Akash Ambani, son of Reliance Industries chief Mukesh Ambani, tennis star Sania Mirza were also spotted. Celebrity chief Vicky Ratnani took care of the food arrangements. A source close to the development was quoted as saying that Tim Cook's visit to the actor’s house was kept hush-hush, and that it was a very private gathering.

Shah Rukh later shared a picture of him and Tim Cook with all the guests on Twitter and wrote, “Thk u all for coming & making @tim_cook & his wonderful team feel the warmth & love of India. Mr.Cook u r a rockstar!”

He also thanked the Bachchans for taking out time for the bash and also posted a snapshot of himself with Big B and the Apple CEO.

Tim Cook, who landed in the country late on Tuesday, kicked off his tour with an early morning visit to the famed Shree Siddhivinayak temple in Prabhadevi, Central Mumbai, where he performed a special 'aarti'. There he ran into Mukesh Ambani’s younger son Anant. He is said to have lunched with the Ambanis at their billion-dollar residence Antilla, even though the RIL chairman is away in the US.  

Later in the evening producer Mukesh Bhatt, president of Film and TV Producers Guild of India, took Tim Cook on a tour of the sets of his new horror film ‘Raaz Reboot’ at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai.

The Apple CEO is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, before winding up his visit, and likely to discuss issues pertaining to opening Apple Stores.
