Shahrukh Khan asked to demolish the ramp outside Mannat

In response to the letter written to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) chief by BJP MP Poonam Mahajan, the Additional Municipal Commissioner will ask superstar Shahrukh Khan to demolish the ramp build outside his bungalow Mannat where he uses it to park his vanity van. The ramp for a long time has been creating problem for the residents. According to Poonam’s letter, the ramp was illegally build and is causing traffic problem.

Her letter did not mention name of any actor.  After verifications facts, it is known that the ramp was build illegally and hence the authorities today said the superstar to remove it within seven days.

“We will be issuing him (Khan) a notice tomorrow,” Additional Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Deshmukh told PTI.

On January 29, Mahajan, had written a letter to Municipal Commissioner Sitaram Kunte.

“Residents of the area have long been complaining about the chaos and traffic build-up there due to the ramp,” Mahajan told reporters.

Without citing anyone’s name, her letter reads “one bungalow owner” was causing “permanent obstruction to people accessing the public road”.

“The ramp is known to be used by the bungalow owner to park his private heavy motor vehicle. In view of the safety and convenience of citizens, I request you to undertake demolition of the illegal ramp,” it said.

Shahrukh’s bungalow stands at Bandra Bandstand. The issue was brought to the BJP MP’s notice by the local residents who are effected by the ramp constructed. The ramp prevents them from using a part of the road and blocks the way to the steps of Mount Mary Church.
