Shahrukh, Gauri get clean chit in sex determination case

Shahrukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan get clean chit in sex determination case. The superstar was wrongly charged for conducting pre-birth sex determination tests of their surrogate son AbRam. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) today informed The Bombay High Court that the allegation made against Shahrukh Khan is wrong and baseless. They have submitted the report to Bombay High Court.

When Shahrukh and Gauri’s third child was born, he was accused of carrying pre-birth sex determination tests of their surrogate baby but after investigation it was found that all the charges against the actor was wrong and there is hardly any truth about the report.

The charges against the actor was filed by social activist Varsha Deshpande and justice Sadhana Jadhav looked into the petition. On August 8, the metropolitan magistrate had issued notice to the respondents and posted the matter for hearing on September 12.

BMC counsel M P S Rao today told the High Court that the allegations leveled in the complaint are baseless. "The Corporation has conducted an enquiry and found the complaint baseless," Rao said.

Varsha Deshpande in her complaint said that Shahrukh Khan has determined the sex of his surrogate baby before the child was born and violated the law. Shahrukh then refuted the rumor and claimed that there is no truth in the report and he has not determined the sex of his baby before the birth.

Investigations were carried on and BMC officials also visited the actor’s residence for interrogating King Khan.

Earlier, the High Court had issued notices to Jaslok Hospital and its doctor Firuza Parikh where the couple’s surrogate child was born.

Deshpande, in her complaint had alleged that the child's gender had been determined before birth, thereby violating the sections of the Act.

The 47-year-old superstar got relief in the sex determination case. The couple already have two children -- Aryan and Suhana.
