Shahrukh discharged from hospital

Family members and fans heaved a sigh of relief when King Khan had a successful shoulder surgery and was discharged from the Breach Candy Hospital. On learning about his release, thousands of fans gathered outside the hospital to see their matinee idol in fit and fine condition. After a mild gesture towards his fans, SRK headed for home with wife Gauri.

Shahrukh’s shoulder surgery was on hold for quite long as he was busy with his assignments. The surgery had been carried out successfully and doctors have advised him rest. He will get back to work after six weeks. Speaking to reporters, the actor said, "I hurt myself and tore a tendon about four years ago. That time it used to hurt when I danced or worked out. Recently, while doing a scene in ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’, I fell on my shoulder and hurt myself again. Not realizing how serious it was, I shot for and completed ‘My Name is Khan’. By then the pain was excruciating and the doctor said I must go under the knife within 21 days. Post surgery, my arm will be in a sling for six weeks."

Dr Sanjay Desai, who operated on SRK said, "A few weeks ago Shah Rukh came to me with complaint of pain. He informed he had had a fall and had torn the rotator cuff muscle of his shoulder, as per previous diagnosis." He further added, "However, he being a dedicated actor, could not undergo the surgery immediately. He said that he has the capacity to bear pain, and he will wait till all his commitments are completed."

During the operation, Shahrukh’s close friends were present to support his family.
