Shahrukh, Anushka to star in Anurag Kashyap’s next

Shahrukh Khan will be seen in critically acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap’s next movie. The film may star Anushka Sharma opposite King Khan. For the first time, Shahrukh Khan will work with one of the most noted directors of Bollywood, Anurag Kashyap.

The director met Shahrukh Khan at his London residence and both discussed the project extensively. Actually, it was Anushka Sharma’s decision to cast Shahrukh Khan in the film. While shooting ‘Bombay Velvet’ in Sri Lanka, Anurag discussed the project will the ‘Band Baaja Baraat’ actress and then when the actress expressed her thought of casting Shahrukh Khan. If the project goes on floor then this would be Anushka's third film with King Khan. She debuted with SRK in 'Band Baaja Baraat' and later worked in 'Jab Tajk Hain Jaan'.

It was actually Anushka Sharma who fixed the meeting with Anurag Kashyap and King Khan.

“After Anushka signed ‘Bombay Velvet’; Anurag developed a great equation with her. Post the initial script reading sessions, they started discussing other projects and that is when Anurag happened to discuss a script which Anushka thought was a perfect fit for SRK,” the daily quoted sources as saying.

Without any delay, Anushka quickly fixed a meeting with Shahrukh Khan.

Rumor also spread in the industry that according to the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ director Shahrukh Khan is not fit for the type of movies that he make but the director later denied having this wrong thought.

However, it is reported that after Farah Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’ shoot wraps up, King Khan may consider Anurag Kashyap’s next. Currently, Anurag Kashyap is making ‘Bombay Velvet’ with Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar and Anushka Sharma in Sri Lanka.

'Bombay Velvet' is based on real events of the 1960’s. The film is being produced by Danny Boyle of the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ fame.
