Shahid’s brother Ishaan to debut with ‘Sairat’ remake opposite Jhanvi
Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother Ishaan Khattar is likely to make his Bollywood debut with the Hindi remake of Marathi blockbuster ‘Sairat’, reports suggest. If it turns out to be true, then he will be starring opposite Sridevi’s daughter Jhanvi Kapoor who has already been confirmed for the film.
Earlier, there were reports that Ishaan will debut with Saif Ali Khan's daughter Sara in Karan Johar’s big screen adaption of John Green’s novel ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ which has also been adapted into a Hollywood movie in 2014. Then there was also buzz that the aspiring actor will join the cast of KJo’s ‘Student of the Year 2’, alongside Tiger Shroff.
Now, a report in Mid-day has stated that the 21-year-old will kick off his acting career with the Hindi remake of the Nagraj Manjule-directorial to be produced by Karan Johar, who had bagged the official remake rights of the film.
The report quoted a source close to the production saying, "The script is being modified to suit the Hindi audience. Karan is yet narrow down on a director."
Meanwhile, Ishaan has refused to comment on the developments. His mother Neelima Azeem told the tabloid, "It would be wrong to talk about his debut. The makers have their plans of making an announcement. Ishaan has his entire career in front of him."
Ishaan has already shared screen space with Shahid as a child artiste in Mahesh Manjrekar's 2005 film 'Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi'. Like his elder brother, Ishaan too is is a trained dancer from Shiamak Davar's dance academy. Earlier this year, he also worked as an assistant director to Abhishek Chaubey in his Shahid’s film ‘Udta Punjab’.
