Shahid-Mira wedding card designer Ravish Kapoor reveals details about card

The marriage of actor Shahid Kapoor and Delhi girl Mira Rajput was a tightly guarded until their wedding card that was leaked online a few days back spilled the beans. It is now confirmed that both of them will tie the knot on July 7 at The Oberoi, Gurgaon.

The card include the names of Mira’s parents Bela and Vikramadity Rajput followed by the names of his biological and step mothers Neelima Azim and Supriya Pathak respectively and father Pankaj Kapur.

There is also a message written at the bottom saying ‘No gifts please, Blessings only’.

The simple but elegant card which comes in a beige-coloured box has been designed by Delhi-based Ravish Kapoor who has also designed wedding cards for Shilpa Shetty, Ganesh Hegde and Hrithik Roshan.

The designer revealed many more details about Shahid’s wedding card and his tastes in an interview to a national daily. Ravish said ever since the card went viral on social media many wrong information regarding its designer have been doing the rounds. He said the same thing happened when Shilpa’s wedding card was leaked.

The card has four small bottles of best quality honey in four corners of the box. Two rectangular boxes at the extreme ends contained tea-bags, specially blended and packaged for the purpose. Ravish said it was Shahid’s idea to include tea in the boxes.

The actor was throughout involved with the designing process. Ravish said that Shahid doesn’t like golden colour and so minimum gold was used only to write the names of the bride and groom.

It seems that the ‘Haider’ star has great respect for women and therefore Mira’s name appears before his name in the card. The designer said it was Shahid who told him to include Neelima’s and Supriya’s name as both were his mothers, and that too above his father’s name.

Ravish also revealed that he had planned to design a logo with the initials ‘S’ above ‘M’ to place near the peacock on the front cover, but the would-be-groom didn’t like it. He said both ‘S’ and ‘M’ should be at the same level or ‘M’ should be placed above ‘S’. However, the logo was exempted.

Ravish has designed two cards – one for the wedding-cum-reception on July 7 and the other for the reception in Mumbai for the actor’s industry friends and colleagues on July 12.

Ravish had also designed the invitation cards for the IIFA Awards function held earlier in June where Shahid received the Best Actor’s award. Both of them had stayed in the same hotel and they began the discussions about the wedding card then itself.
