Shahid-Mira in Amritsar to seek their guru’s blessings for daughter

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira, who became proud parents of a baby girl on August 26, have gone to Amritsar to seek blessings of their spiritual leader for their new-born daughter.

Both the families of Shahid and Mira are ardent followers of Radha Soami Satsang Beas and want the head of the organisation and their guru Baba Gurinder Singh to give a suitable name to their baby daughter.

Shahid’s father veteran actor Pankaj Kapur is also travelling with them. It is said that the couple will only reveal the name once it is approved by the religious leader.

“Both Shahid and Mira’s families are staunch followers of the Radha Soami sect. So, it’s natural that they want their daughter to be blessed by Guruji (Baba Gurinder Singh). And they'll also consult him for the name that’s most suitable for her," a source was quoted as saying a few days ago.

In fact, the religious organisation had a key role to play in Shahid and Mira’s marriage as well. The couple first met at a meeting of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas and Baba Gurinder Singh had suggested the match to the respective families.  The elders were happy to agree his suggestion and the Delhi based Mira Rajput became Shahid Kapoor’s better-half on July 7, 2015.

Meanwhile, Shahid has taken a break from work for the time being. He will be next seen in Vishal Bhardwaj's period drama 'Rangoon' starring Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan. The movie is slated to release on Februray 24, 2017, a day ahead of his 36th birthday. He will also be shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period film 'Padmavati' which also stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
