Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Arjun Reddy’ is now ‘Kabir Singh’, first poster unveiled


Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film, ‘Arjun Singh’ is rechristened Kabir Singh. Sharing the poster, Shahid Kpaoor wrote#“ArjunReddy was loved and appreciated now it is time for #KabirSingh! Get reddy to see him in 2019”.

‘Kabir Singh’ is a Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster titled, ‘Arjun Reddy’, helmed by Vijay Deverakonda. Now director Sandeep Vanga set to make the film in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor in the lead. The film will be shot in Delhi and Mumbai.

Mumbai Mirror quotes a source as saying, “The protagonist is a Punjabi like Shahid who is best suited for the part because he emulates both power and vulnerability.”

Talking about the film’s title, Sandeep Vanga said, “When we started work on the Hindi script, it was a very exciting journey. Kabir Singh, as the protagonist’s name, came naturally, considering the character’s graph. Kabir Singh has the same punch and madness of Arjun Reddy.”

The source added that Shahid’s long hair and beard are part of his Kabir Singh persona and the actor will be carrying the look for a while now. The actor will sport four different looks in the film and has been prepping for it for the past three months. 

The film stars Kiara Advani in the female lead is slated to release on June 21, 2019.
