Shahid Kapoor says no to Yash Raj Film

Shahid Kapoor has opted out of Yash Raj banner film following his tight schedule. Due to his hectic schedule, Shahid could not accommodate dates for Yash Raj film to be directed by Maneesh Sharma of 'Band Baaja Baraat' fame.

The film was originally scheduled to go on floor in September but he could not manage his dates. Moreover, Maneesh Sharma after discussing with Aditya Chopra and screenplay writer Jaydeep Sahni decided to include lip-sync songs, which were earlier not part of the film and they have decided to shot it earlier. With back to back project, Shahid Kapoor could not accommodate dates for the revised schedule and he backed out of the project.

Shahid’s hand is full with 'Phata Poster Nikla Hero', Bejoy Nambiar`s yet untitled film and Prabhu Deva`s 'Namak' opposite Sonakshi Sinha.

The director says he understands Shahid's hassles. "Both Jaideep and I have decided to bring in a couple of lip-sync songs which will need to be recorded before we can go on floor. However, it is sad that Shahid has understandably had to opt out because of this delay, given his packed schedule going forward," said Sharma.

While the banner is in talk with Shahid for another new project to go on floor early next year.
