I never had issues with Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor


Shahid Kapoor has finally broken his silence on the rumoured tiff with Ranveer Singh. It was buzzed that Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were at loggerheads over their respective roles in ‘Padmavati’ but the ‘Haider’ actor finally cleared the air surrounding the speculated report. Denying any issue, the actor said that he is looking forward to work with Ranveer in the periodical drama, ‘Padmavati’.

“I can’t really comment on what somebody else is feeling or going through. I am sure he will clarify for himself”, Shahid told a leading daily.

The ‘Udta Punjab’ actor also praised Shahid’s performance in ‘Bajirao Mastani’. He also stressed that Ranveer is the best choice for the role of Allaudiin Khilji in ‘Padmavati’.

Shahid Kapoor asserted that off-screen also they bonded really well. He even recalled the moment when Ranveer moved into tears when he bagged his debut award at an event hosted by Shahid himself.

“I remember he was crying and it was a special moment for him. So I have kind-of seen him grow in the last six years”, Shahid added.

Shahid Kapoor will be sharing screen space with Deepika Padukone for the first time and the actor is full of praise for the ‘Piku’ actress.

Prasing the diva, Shahid said, “She’s probably doing better work than many today. So that’s awesome. It’s great that we are working together in a film like ‘Padmavati’”, Shahid was quoted as saying.

Taking about his role Rana Rawal Ratan Singh in ‘Padmavati’, Shahid said,Did I know about the character of the king? The person? Obviously, yes.Padmavati is a rather famous story, historical fact that happened. I did broadly know about it. However, with Sanjay sir, it’s very much about what he wants to make and the world he wants to create and his interpretation of the characters. The curiosity was what is it that he wants me to do. When I heard it, I was very excited and I thought it was a great opportunity”.
