Shahid Kapoor flaunts his chiselled body in a shirtless picture

It is Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput’s second marriage anniversary on Friday, but this hasn’t stopped the ‘Udta Punjab’ actor from his work commitments. Shahid is prepping up to shoot for a massive war sequence in upcoming period film ‘Padmavati’, and the actor has been working out hard to get a suitable beefy look for his character of Rawal Ratan Singh.

Shahid took to his Instagram page today and posted a shirtless picture of him flaunting his chiselled body – his six-packs and biceps. The photograph has him showing his back and posing in front of a mirror. He is seen wearing a pair of boxers and also winking at the mirror.

Shahid captioned the picture, “Favere favere kaam chaloo hai,” and going by the picture, his hard work and dedication is surely paying off. He is a fitness freak and often keeps posting pictures of his work-out sessions on Instagram and is also clicked outside gym by paparazzi.

It was said that the war sequence between Shahid’s character and Ranveer Singh’s character Allaudin Khilji has been pushed further as Shahid had not attained the body his role demanded. The actor had been going through a rigorous workout regimen with celebrity trainer Samir Jaura since a long time to fit his role.

Reportedly, Shahid is following a boot camp-like regimen which include functional training, cross fit and training at the beach with ladders, tyres, ropes and sand bags, six days a week for two-and-a-half hours.

“The aim was to lose some body fat and gain lean muscles. He (Shahid) has got a new diet too, four-five portions in a day with broccoli, asparagus, black and brown rice and pulses for proteins. The training and diet plan intensified 40 days before he began shooting in November with him going off salt and sugar for 15 days when close-ups were taken. Now they start the portions of him in royal costumes and since he needs to look bigger, we’ve added more carbs,” Sameer was quoted as saying in an interview with DNA.

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, 'Padmavati' also stars Deepika Padukone and Aditi Rao Hydari and is slated to hit screens on Novrmber 17.
