Shahid Kapoor backs out of IIFA due to injury

Shahid Kapoor's back injury aggravated while rehearing for IIFA 2018 and hence he had to back out of the show at the eleventh hour. The actor sustained back injury during the shooting of ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’. After he suffered injury, doctors advised him to rest but the actor continued his shoot and above all the rehearsal for the show spoilt his condition. He is now advised total rest.

The ‘Padmaavat’ actor was supposed to fly for Bangkok on Thursday night but he failed. Shahid had informed the organisers. Shahid was very excited to perform at International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards gala in Bangkok on Sunday but his health did not permit him.

When Shahid backed out, the organizers approached Bobby Deol and he readily agreed. It is learnt that Bobby, who was last seen in ‘Race 3’ is rehearsing day and night to deliver a spectacular performance. After a span of seven long years, Bobby is returning to such a grand event.

Not only Shahid but Arjun Kapoor has also fallen sick ahead of the majestic event.

However, the actor assured his fans that he will try to be ready to perform. "I hate being sick... It is such a dilemma sometimes—do you medicate yourself and work through the sickness or rest it out and lose out on work and your time? Anyway, I guess have to rest it out and recover in time for IIFA and nail it on stage there," Arjun tweeted today.
