Shahid, Mira with dad Pankaj Kapur attend ‘Rangoon’ screening

After his praiseworthy performance in the hard-hitting ‘Udta Punjab’, Shahid Kapoor will be back on the silver screen in ‘Rangoon’. Before the film releases next month, the hot actor showed it to his family at a private screening organised by the makers.

Shahid and his lovely wife Mira Rajput attended the screening held at a Mumbai theatre. The couple was accompanied by Shahid’s dad, veteran actor Pankaj Kapur. They arrived in a red car driven by the actor. Mira was spotted occupying the backseat, while the senior actor took the passenger seat beside his son.

Director Vishal Bhardwaj came with his wife, singer Rekha Bhardwaj, who looked graceful in a black and blue salwar suit. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala was spotted with his wife Wardha. Also present at the screening was producer Krishika Lulla of Eros, who arrived with her husband.

Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan, who also star in the movie, seem to have given the screening a miss, due to their other commitments.

‘Rangoon’ is Shahid’s third collaboration with the National Award winning filmmaker and composer, after ‘Kaminey’ and ‘Haider’. The movie, set in the backdrop of World War II, wherein Shahid will be seen in the role of a soldier, Kangana a film star, while Saif plays a filmmaker.

‘Rangoon’ is scheduled to release on February 24, a day ahead of Shahid’s 36th birthday.

Shahid recently bagged the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for his performance of a drug-addict Rockstar in ‘Udta Punjab’. He is currently working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period film ‘Padmavati’.
