Shah Rukh, Salman, Akshay among Forbes 100 Highest-Paid Celebrities

Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar have been featured among the top 100 World’s Highest-Paid Celebrities of 2017 in Forbes Magazine’s annual listing released recently. They are also the only Indians to have found a spot on the list.

With earnings of 38 million dollar, Shah Rukh is listed at 65th position, alongside American singer-actress Jennifer Lopez and musicians The Chainsmokers, who have also earned the same amount.

Salman bagged the 71st rank with an income of 37 million dollar, while Akshay is listed at number 80 with an income of 35.5 million dollar, alongside American rock band Bon Jovi.

It comes as a surprise, considering that Salman’s box-office track record has been relatively better that that of King Khan. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan and cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who were in the top 100 list last year, hasn’t found mention this year. Big B had occupied the 71st position and was tied with Salman, while the Dhoni had ranked at 82.

The 2017 list has been topped by American rapper Sean Combs or Diddy, singer Beyonce, and British author JK Rowling with earnings of 130 million dollar, 105 million dollar and 95 million dollar respectively.

The list has been calculated on the basis of pre-tax income of the celebrities between June 1, 2016 through June 1, 2017. Fees for agents, managers and lawyers are not deducted. Estimates are based on figures from Nielsen, NPD Bookscan, Pollstar, Box Office Mojo, Songkick, D'Marie and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry insiders and sometime of the stars themselves.
