Shah Rukh opens up on his role in Salman’s ‘Tubelight’

Speculations are rife that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will reunite on-screen in the latter’s film ‘Tubelight’. It is said that King Khan will make a cameo appearance in the film, but his role is pivotal.

However, no one from the film’s team has confirmed the development, and trade analyst Komal Nahata who had also tweeted about it, later deleted it. Similar reports had surfaced late last year as well, but director Kabir Khan had then refuted the rumours.

Now, Shah Rukh himself has spoken about his purported role in Salman’s film. Speaking during the annual calendar launch of Dabboo Ratnani at Mumbai’s Olive on Wednesday night, Shah Rukh said, “I have also read these reports. You should ask the producers of ‘Tubelight’. They will give you the correct answer.”

Perhaps, the makers of ‘Tubelight’ want to keep the big news under wraps as far as possible. Interestingly, even Shah Rukh hasn’t totally denied being in the film. 'Tubelight' is set against the backdrop of Indo-Chinese War of 1965, and also stars Chinese actress Zhu Zhu.

Meanwhile, the ‘Karan Arjun’ co-stars will come together on the small screen very soon. Shah Rukh will be appearing on Salman’s show ‘Bigg Boss 10’ to promote his upcoming film ‘Raees’.

Shah Rukh plays the titular role of Raees Alam in the Rahul Dholakia-directed crime drama, inspired from the true-life story of Ahmedabad-based don Abdul Latif. The film marks the Bollywood debut of Pakistani actress Mahira Khan and also stars Nawazuddin Siddiwqui. ‘Raees’ releases on January 25.
