Shah Rukh Khan not playing warrior or guide in any film as yet

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan was said to have taken up a variety of roles including that of a dwarf, a warrior and a guide with different filmmakers. Last month, the actor sort of confirmed it with a cryptic tweet. However, Shah Rukh has now denied playing a warrior or a guide in any film yet.

"I have been reading. I just comment on what I read at times. So, I was reading that I'm a warrior in Adi's (Aditya Chopra) film. I'm a dwarf in Aanand's (Aanand L Rai) film, which I am. I'm a guide in one of the other films and a counsellor in Gauri Shinde's film. And there were two other films that I was doing, which I am not, at this point, at least," the ‘Dilwale’ actor said at an event when asked about the obscure post on the micro-blogging site.

On June 18, Shah Rukh took to his Twitter handle and had written, “I am a Warrior, a Dwarf & a Guide. I am not what I ought to, want or hope to be… I am all that & I am what I am. My two bits on my upcoming ‘roles’.”

“I'm sure that one day, somebody will take me as a warrior and also as a guide. Somebody started writing that the film is based on the wonderful classic ‘Guide’ by Dev Anand saab and Vijay Anand saab. But it's not like that. I just commented on what I am cryptically reading on Twitter. It wasn't that I was making a comment on myself," an IANS report quoted Shah Rukh as saying.

It was reported that Shah Rukh and Aditya Chopra, who delivered blockbusters like ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Mohabattein’ and ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, have collaborated for a period film in which King Khan will play a warrior. The film was said to begin rolling in the latter half of 2017.

While Shah Rukh may have denied playing a warrior as yet, he had previously essayed the role of king Asoka in the eponymous film of 2001 which also starred Kareena Kapoor.

Shah Rukh’s film ‘Raees’ was earlier slated to clash with Salman Khan's ‘Sultan’ on Eid, but the makers of the crime thriller have postponed its release to January next year. The actor had recently stated that the film got delayed by eight to nine months due to a leg injury he sustained during the shoot of the film.

"I am working out on my leg. I'm doing some physiotherapy. I have taken time off films and every day I exercise at least one to one and half hours for my leg. Otherwise, I would have had to undergo a surgery which is a long procedure. So, I don't want to do it. God willing, by the time I start Imtiaz Ali's film. Before that, I have two months. So, I am working hard on it," said Shah Rukh.
