Shah Rukh Khan is a ‘Doctor all over again’

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has received an honorary doctorate from the University of Edinburgh, UK for his contribution to film and his philanthropic work. The actor was invited to deliver a lecture to students at the University on Thursday, October 15.

King Khan was presented with the Degree of Doctor Honoris Causa. An elated Shah Rukh took to Twitter and shared a picture of him with the Degree and wrote, “I am a Doctor all over again…yay!! Her Royal Highness & Prof. Jeffery & Smith & all ur colleagues thank u for the Degree of Doctor Honoris Causa.”

This is the second honorary doctorate bestowed to Shah Rukh. The actor has previously received an honorary doctorate degree in arts and culture from Britain’s University of Bedfordshire.

After accepting the honour, the Bollywood ‘Badshah’ gave a rousing speech about real life lessons, with examples from the plots of his movies. He had earlier shared on the micro-blogging site on what the lecture would be about.

“My speech today is about Life Lessons at the Edinburgh University & my biggest learning is Life is the only Miracle,” he had posted.

The official Twitter handle of the University also shared a picture of Shah Rukh Khan from the event and congratulated him.

“Congratulations Dr Shah Rukh Khan, honorary graduate of the University of Edinburgh #DrSRKEdinburghUni,” the post read.

After his speech, Shah Rukh requested the ‘professors out there in the front row’ to join him on the stage for the ‘Lungi Dance’ from his blockbuster film ‘Chennai Express’. The entire crowd also grooved with King Khan.
