Shah Rukh Khan escapes major accident on Anand L Rai’s film sets

Shah Rukh Khan escaped a dangerous accident while shooting for his untitled project with director Anand L Rai, but two crew members suffered injuries in the incident.

The accident happened when a portion of a ceiling collapsed on the sets in Mumbai’s Film City. It has been barely a week since the ‘Raees’ actor started shooting for the upcoming film. Luckily, Shah Rukh was sitting away from the spot and was saved this time round.

Speaking about the accident, a source told Mumbai Mirror, “A prop ladder fell on the makeshift ceiling. The injured crew members were discharged immediately since the injuries were minor. Everybody heaved a sigh of relief that SRK was seated on another side of the set and was unharmed. Shooting was stalled for two days and will resume later this week.”

The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ director also issued an official statement about the accident which read, “It was a minor injury and nothing serious. Prompt care and action was taken. The shooting had to be stalled that day as it was cloudy and not suited to the scene’s requirements.”

Shah Rukh and Anand L Rai have teamed up for a film for the first time, and the superstar will be seen in the role of a dwarf. Reportedly, Katrina Kaif and Anuksha Sharma, who starred with Shah Rukh in Yash Chopra’s swansong ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, have come on board for the film.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh and Anushka will be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s romantic drama that will hit screens on August 11. Katrina, on the other hand is awaiting the release of her film ‘Jagga Jasoos’, opposite Ranbir Kapoor, on July 14.
