‘Sasural Simar Ka’ actors Dipika & Shoaib to get married in Dec

Television actors Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim, who played the roles of Simar and Prem respectively, in ‘Sasural Simar Ka’, have been in a steady relationship for three years now. The couple has finally decided to tie the knot.

In an interview with The Times of India, Shoaib said that they were ready to take the plunge. “We plan to get married either in December this year or January next year. I would like to have a winter wedding. Dipika wants a grand nikaah in my hometown Bhopal,” he told the daily.

Shoaib, who quit ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ in 2013, will be back on TV after a gap of almost four years. He will be soon seen in Star Plus’ series ‘Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai' in the role of an Army Officer. During the gap, he has worked on his body and looks much fitter now.

"After quitting the show, I worked on my body. Dipika (Kakar, girlfriend) is very happy with the new me, as she was the one who pushed me to get fitter. I was on a no-sugar and no-carb diet. She would also eat the same boiled food as me," Shoab said.

Meanwhile, Dipika too has decided to quit ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ to concentrate on her personal life. She has already put in her papers and is currently serving her notice period, which will end in mid-February.

Speaking about her relationship, Dipika had in an earlier interview said, “Shoaib and I have connected in the most difficult part of each other’s life and we have seen distance, we have been away, so the fear of breaking up is not there between us. I always believe that there’s a phase in every relationship where you are madly in love in the beginning, then you madly fight and then you cross that to have a very strong relationship. I think we have already crossed the fight stage so now we share a very matured equation and our base is very strong because we love each other a lot and with the matured understanding it just clicks perfectly.”

It will be Dipika’s second marriage. She was married for three years, before entering the TV industry, and her divorce came through in January 2015.
