‘Sarbjit’ mints in Rs 8.25 crore in two days


After a slow start, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda starrer ‘Sarbjit’ slowed a slight growth of Rs 23.58 percent at the box office on day 2. ‘Sarbjit’, directed by Omung Kumar earned Rs 8.25 crore on the second day.

Opened with mixed reviews, the film earned only Rs 3.69 crore on Day 1. The positive word of mouth slightly showed hike at the ticket window.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the film’s box-office number:

Omung Kumar’s ‘Sarbjit’ is the story of Indian resident of the Bhikhiwind village at the Indo-Pak border, who was convicted as a terrorist by Pakistan's Supreme Court in 1991. After 22 years on death row, he was attacked by fellow inmates in jail and died in a Lahore hospital six days later.

‘Sarbjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur enacted by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan fought relentlessly for his release.
