Sanjay to dance, act with other jail inmates

Finally Sanjay Dutt is getting what he loves most, acting and dancing. Sanjay Dutt, who is serving a 42 months sentence at Yerwada Central Jail in Pune, has been selected with four dozen other jail inmates to perform at a welfare show organized by the state Prisons Department.

The show will be held next Thursday. The show is an annual show and will take place at the Bal Gandharva Auditorium in Pune. Bal Gandharva Auditorium is located in the heart of the city.

Sanjay, along with other inmates is rehearsing for this mega event for the past two weeks inside the jail premises.

It is heard that Sanjay will be performing on latest hit numbers like ‘Lungi Dance’ from recent hit movie ‘Chennai Express’. He will also dance on patriotic numbers from ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’. The jail officials are tight lipped about the details of the programme.

The rehearsals are also carried out at the auditorium. Every day for two hours, all the participants from the jail are taken to the auditorium where they do stage rehearsals. However, officials told that this break from jail does not interfere in their day to day chores of the jail. They carry out their routine chores without any obstruction.

Sanjay Dutt has been assigned the responsibility of making paper bags which gets sold through NGO. He also gets daily wages for his work.

For the main event, jail inmates will be provided with saloon facilities. Sanjay Dutt who has grown his beard will go for a shaving and hair cutting. All the participants will also receive pedicure and manicure services. Apart from that, for the main event, the participants will get a makeup man who will put slight makeup on the participants making them presentable on the stage.

Under tight security, Sanjay and other inmates are transported to and from the auditorium. This sure looks like a break for the actor who surrendered on May 16th this year after he was convicted in 1993 Mumbai blasts case. A week later he was taken to Yerwada jail in Pune. Here Sanjay will complete his remainder of five years of sentence.

Sanjay had earlier requested to the jail authorities to grant him some physical work as his body needed exercise and he wanted to keep himself fit. But owing to his security, jail authorities turn down his request.
