Sanjay Dutt’s bodyguards beat up reporters on the sets of ‘Bhoomi’

Sanjay Dutt, who kick-starts the shooting of ‘Bhoomi’, his first film post his return from jail has landed in a legal soup. His bodyguard entered into brawl with media persons on the set of ‘Bhoomi’ and following which FIR was lodged against the actor. A video of the scuffle was circulated on media which shows few people in black outfit fighting with cops.

In their defense, Sanjay Dutt’s bodyguards reasoned that they got into fight with police and media as per the advice of the producers and the director. The copy of the FIR is shared below.

A few days back, Bhoomi shoot was stalled when crowd went our of control. A source from the unit said, “We were shooting at Kaushal Bajpai’s house in a village called Bamrauli Katara near Agra on Thursday. It was a night shoot and we had more than adequate security in place. Apart from Sanjay sir’s bodyguards, the state police force had deployed their men on location.” Apparently, they underestimated the actor’s popularity. When director Omung Kumar was asked about the same, he said, “We were all set to roll, but thousands of people just took over our set. We couldn’t manage the crowd; it was impossible to shoot that night. It was in the best interest of everyone to cancel it.”

Following the unpleasant incident, Sanjay Dutt called up a press conference in Agra and clarified everything. He said that when the brawl took place he was not present at the spot and had he been there, the incident could have been averted.

He apologized on behalf of his bouncers for misbehaving with the media persons.

“Had I been there, I would have resolved the matter with a ‘jaadu ki jhappi’ (magic hug). Yet I tendered an apology yesterday and offer the same again,” Dutt said in a low voice.

A few decades earlier, Sanjay Dutt shot ‘Vidhata’ in Agra and when asked how things have changed now, he said, “Tab Agra ke log pyar se maan jaate the magar ab maafi se maante hain’ (earlier Agra residents were pacified with love but now seek apology).

“Although ‘Vidhata’ was shot in the Taj city, there was no Agra in the film. But this time it is the story of Agra for an issue which is pan India,” said Dutt.

In ‘Bhoomi’, Aditi Rao Hydari is playing Sanjay Dutt’s daughter.
