Sanjay Dutt to walk out of jail on February 25

Good news for Sanjay Dutt's fans! Bollywood actor, who is serving the remaining three and half years of jail term at Pune Yerawada jail, will be released from jail on February 25. Owing to Dutt’s ‘good conduct’, the release date has been cut short. Now, Munna Bhai will walk out of the jail 103 days ahead of the official prison term.

According to sources, home department on Tuesday approved the proposal to grant early release of the actor on the ground of good conduct. Sources in the state secretariat said Dr Ranjit Patil, the minister of state home has cleared the proposal. However, Patil has not given any official confirmation about the proposal.

Sanjay Dutt was found guilty in 1993 Mumbai blasts case for possessing illegal weapons and he was sentenced to five years in jail. Before the verdict was pronounced, Dutt already served 18 months jail term. Now he is going to complete the remaining 42 months of jail term.

Dutt was however given all benefits of remittance a prisoner gets for good behaviour while serving a sentence.

Couple of times, Dutt moved out of jail on furlough and parole and his repeated furlough also invited controversy.
